The national airline Garuda Indonesia said to have shut down three flights it operates from the Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru. Third, among others, the cost of Pekanbaru destination Medan, Padang, and Batam.
The third closure of the Garuda Indonesia operated flights from Pekanbaru was predicted for field level seats that are less passengers and the high competition among airlines, particularly for the purpose of Medan and Batam flight.
The airline that is majority owned by the state before start serving flights from Pekanbaru to Batam, Medan and Padang in the early to mid-2013. Flight was operated with Bombardier CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft which has a capacity of 96 seats, comprising 12 seats in business class and 84 economy class seats.
