Qatar Airways to Add Flights Jakarta to 21 times a week
Qatar
Airways, one of the major airlines of the Middle East, plans to
increase the frequency of its flights from Doha to Jakarta to 21 times
in each week before the end of the year. Now the airline has served the Doha-Jakarta route 18 times a week.Qatar
Airways Country Manager for Indonesia Cheoung Eu Chan told The Jakarta
Post that the additional cost of 18 times per week to 21 times a week
can be realized in the month of November. In fact, Qatar Airways before flying to Jakarta 14 times a week and last week adds new flight frequency to 18 times a week.Service
flights between Doha and Jakarta or otherwise operated by a combination
of Airbus A330 and Boeing 777. Qatar Airways In total, providing 5,835
seats each way every week. Chan said that the additional cost is a response to the increasing
number of requests from Indonesia to the Middle East, particularly for
the purpose of pilgrimage."We have seen the relentless growth over the past two years. When I first arrived here three years ago, we only have one flight a day. Now we will go to 21 flights a week by the end of this year, "said Chan.For Qatar Airways, Indonesia is a very important aviation market and become one of the priorities after China. In the last year alone the airline grew by 30 percent in Indonesia. This figure is likely to be sustained this year, despite being a
slowdown in the tourism industry because it is an election year."We
have a corporate segment, we have customers of government officials,
and pilgrimage (to Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Jerusalem). Many who travel with us. However, Hajj and Umrah is one component. There is no tourism market, where the ability to travel from Indonesian citizens has increased very rapidly, "he said.He
said Qatar Airways confident can carry 140 passengers from Indonesia to
major destinations diiliki by the company through its new hub at Hamad
International Airport, Doha. Moreover,
Chan added, Qatar Airways could open 10-12 new destinations every year,
so it will provide more advanced flight options to passengers.
