Malaysia Airlines Has Officially retired Boeing 737-400

Malaysia Airlines, the national airline of Malaysia, has officially retired Boeing 737-400 aircraft in its fleet. The Boeing 737-400 was operated by Malaysia Airlines for 22 years since 1992.
Malaysia Airlines Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said that the role of the Boeing 737-400 aircraft will be replaced by the Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Currently in the Malaysia Airlines fleet are at least 58 Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Ahmad said that the Boeing 737-800 aircraft more fuel efficient by 15-20 percent compared with the Boeing 737-400, and can fly for five hours each way. According to him, Malaysia Airlines will operate a total of 64 Boeing 737-800 aircraft by the end of 2015.
