Malindo Air, a subsidiary of Lion Air is the airline's first hybrid in Malaysia, announced it will serve direct flights to Krabi, Thailand, starting in mid-September this year. Flights to Krabi will operate from Subang and Penang as well.
In a statement, Air Malindo said that Krabi will be the first international destination served from Penang and will be the second international destinations are operated from Subang. Previously the airline had been flying from Subang to Batam in Riau Islands, Indonesia. "We plan to add more destinations in the coming months and as soon as the new aircraft coming," said Chief Executive Officer Rama Chandran Water Malindo Muthy.
To attract passengers, Malindo Water supply promo price ranging from RM 149 to the Penang-Krabi flights and RM 179 for the Subang-Krabi flights each way. The fare includes airport tax, baggage free, and snacks. In this service Malindo Air will operate the ATR 72-600 aircraft with a capacity of 72 seats in economy class.
