Cebu Pacific and Philippines Tigerair Seek New Routes to Myanmar

Low-cost airlines Flipina origin, Cebu Pacific, along with its subsidiaries, Tigeair Philippines, eyeing new routes to Myanmar after getting approval from the civil aviation authorities of the Philippines (CAB). The combination of these two airlines will get a quota of 2,520 seats per week.Cebu Pacific is headed by Lance Gokongwei want 1,260 seats per week for flights to Yangon, and at the same time Tigerair Philippines also wants equal number of seats for the route from Manila to Yangon. Both airlines have filed a separate license to the regulator.On May 20, the Philippines and Myanmar renew bilateral air transport agreements between the two countries since 1979. Through the new agreement, airlines were allowed to increase the frequency and gain an additional seat allocation for flights between the Philippines and Myanmar, so as to improve the investment and perdanganan in between the two.Under the new agreement, airlines are flying from each state will get a share in a total of 3,780 seats per week, or about three flights a day between the Philippines and Myanmar.
